Started teaching carnatic music at the age of 17 as seva to her Guru. Nearly teaching for more than 10 yrs. She was teaching lots of BA (music) students in Trivandrum for their music degree exams. Now She continues to teach lots of children in NJ. All her students have been participating in different programmes and competitions for past 7yrs in NJ. Students here in NJ particpate in Veena and Vocal competitions conducted by Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana,GCD competition conducted by CMANA, KANJ and Fokana. Many have won prizes too. Niranjana Ganesh- winner of CMANA for both Music essay and Vocal music Srinidhi Ramesh- winner of CMANA competition twice Srinayani marpaka- winner of Cleveland Tyagaraja veena competition Manika Harikumar- winner of light music competition conducted by Fokana Athira Haridas- winner of Kanj carnatic music competition Students regularly perform every year in Trinity Day conducted by TFAS and Tyagaraja Aradhana conducted by CMANA. They also perform in various organisations like Tamil Sangam and Malayalam and Telugu organisations not only carnatic music but also traditional classical festival songs. They also given Navaratri concert at Chinmaya Mission. Students have also performed a concert on Lord Muruga for Nandalala Mission in a typical concert pattern starting from Ganesa Stuti to Thiruppugazha and Thillana. This was very well appreciated by all the musicians. Students have also participated in Sangeetha Lahari programmes of Sri Guruvayoorappan temple. |
